The end of year slump!

As the year draws to a close, our energy levels are exhausted and we generally feel tired, run down and in desperate need of a holiday.

A lot of us find we often get sick at this time of year, with summer colds and cases of flu, tummy bugs and adrenal burn-out, which takes its toll on us in both our professional and personal lives.

A sure sign you are running on empty would be dry, chapped lips, a dull unfocused mind, consuming more junk food and alcohol than normal and constantly getting ill.

If this rings true to you, then we have some sure-fire ways to help you get through the last home stretch and let you feel fresh, healthy and revitalized for the New Year!

  • Drink PLENTY of water. This is always recommended but even more so now. Living in South Africa, our summers are hot and we easily dehydrate without even knowing it. Keep a water bottle on you at all times and try adding some lemon or fresh berries to it to keep your taste buds motivated. Sparkling water is also so refreshing and a retailer like Woolworths, has a range out with zero sugar but natural flavours like - Apple, Coconut, Blood Orange and Mulberry.
  • Get Moving. Exercise is one of the best ways to keep fatigue and the end-of-year slump away. You have to get up off the couch and get moving. Even if it’s a quick walk around your complex you live in or a gym session with a buddy, make sure you get those limbs active and get the blood flow MOVING! You will feel it in your body and your mental awareness will be amazing.
  • Sleep! It doesn’t help if you exercise and eat a balanced diet, but then burn the midnight oil. Your body, mind and spiritual wellness need’s sleep! This is the time when your body shuts down all the exterior elements and wakes up internally to recharge and regenerate your whole being.
  • Go Fish. Good for your heart, omega-3 oils may also boost alertness. According to a 2016 study by scientists at the Italy University of Siena, volunteers tag heuer replica who took a fish oil capsule for 21 days demonstrated faster mental reaction times. They also reported feeling more vigorous.
  • Know your internal Body Clock - Some people get a burst of energy first thing in the morning. They're often called morning larks. Night owls are people who are at their best at the end of the day.

Hopefully, these little tips will help keep you and your body fit & healthy. Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2018!
